Just like London Buses, when one arrives, there are two more behind it… as the days draw out and the sun is starting to warm us again, next week is going to be a busy one at the Hart.
And, as it’s also half term, we thought we would bring back the “Toss your own” pop up kitchen in the bar. We’ll do the batter, the lemon juice, the Nutella, the squirty cream and the sugar… you make your own pancake. Bring your kids, grannies and dogs – to clear up the ones you miss – for a bit of silly fun.
A bit of a conundrum here; do we be indulgent in honour of Love or abstemious to observe Lent. No contest. The Hart wins every time. It’s also our regular “builder’s night/happy hour” and the “lads” won’t appreciate hearts and flowers… we can’t be too lovey dovey. Hence, ta-dah, Stuffed Heart, Cock in the Hole, Passioned Prawns and all sorts of other weird and wonderful creations… what’s love got to do with it?!?
For it is not only China that celebrates The Year of the Dog next Friday. Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and even Australia (but then any excuse for a barbie on the beach) are all partying too. Such a wealth of menu opportunities cannot be missed, so for the first time in years, we are not cooking Pizza on a Friday night but instead, filling the board with Asian delicacies… wash it down with some Singha and you could be in Soho…
Phew… at least it is a rest weekend in the Six Nations tournament.
