A little heads up on things happening in your local in the first months of 2017…
Six Nations Rugby:
This year, TV coverage is provided by ITV and the BBC so those of you not lucky enough to have a ticket to the actual match could all watch the games at home…but where’s the fun in that? Come to the pub and join in the fun – enjoy decent beer from the pump, shout at the referee and then argue the toss afterwards. We are only showing the England games unless we are asked otherwise… Here’s the schedule… we’ll carry you home…
Saturday 4th February – England v France: 4.50 p.m. kick off
Saturday 11th February – Wales v England: 4.50 p.m. kick off
Sunday 25th February – England v Italy: 3.00 p.m. kick off
Saturday 11th March – England v Scotland: 4.00 p.m. kick off
Saturday 18th March – Ireland v England: 5.00 p.m. kick off
Valentine’s Day – Tuesday 14th February from 6.00 p.m.
We aren’t the most romantic of pubs but we do like putting together a good menu so click on this link valentines menu 2017 or ask for a copy at the bar… booking very advisable.
Pancake Day – Tuesday 28th February from 6.00 p.m.
Some say we are really good tossers and get batter and batter at it as time goes on. We might even let you toss your own. Sweet or savoury and lots of them, we do like pancakes.
Mothering Sunday – 26th March from 12.00 – 3.00 p.m.
Mother’s Day this year coincides with the clocks going back the night before so we hope for a sunny day and a lovely light evening. The provisional menu is available here mothers day 2017 or ask at the bar and we always get very busy, so please, please book well in advance. All Mums (and Grans and Aunties) get a little pressie from us too…
Plus there continues to be Ukulele practice on one Tuesday and then the Knitting/Crochet group on the alternating Tuesday, Wednesday sees happy hours and the Book Club once a month, Thursday is always Poker Night, and Friday’s we serve Pizza (as well as other yummy stuff). We are trying to do some kitchen maintenance and might not always be open on a weekday lunchtime… please phone to book if you know you are coming. In fact, call us anyway – 01473 890312 – it’s good to talk.
